Description
This block of chardonnay greets you as you travel up the driveway at Marynissen. These are the vines that John and Nanny watched over every day from their front porch since 1990. 50% of the wine has been fermented and aged in 2nd and 3rd year oak barriques, with a full Malolactic fermentation and 6 month lees contact. The other 50% was stainless steel tank fermented and no malolactic fermentation, leaving that portion crisp and refreshing with green apple and lime notes. The wine is a lovely balance of creamy butterscotch and toast up front, with crisp tart acidity through the mid palate and long finish.
